Who can test valves?

Post by monster » Sun Mar 17, 2013 7:30 pm

I've got a few 12A?7 here that I've had for a number of years. Some I can tell what they are as they still have logos etc. on them. I've spoken to Tony Baxter (technician here in N.P.) and he doesn't have a valve tester, and he suspects that no-one in N.P. would have one.

Anyone know who could test them for me?

Have you tried contacting your local Amateur radio club? http://www.nzart.org.nz/assets/nparc/index.html

Those guys if anyone should be able to help. Otherwise, DIY and search the web. Depends on how you want to test them I suppose, what you want to verify.

A quick web search brought up a tester

And a DIY Audio post that links to an old interesting textbook.

Let me know how you get on as I might have a few options here in Hamilton. Jono.
2x BFM Jack 112 (DIY), Cort Action A, GenzBenz Streamliner 600.
