Some help please : what type of spray can I use to lube a scratchy pot and can a bad solider join give the same problem ?

You don't really want to lube a pot, that implies grease which will allow more dust to stick.

What you want is an electrical spray, which is pretty much 100% alcohol. Spay it inside the pot casing and turn the pot back and forth while the alcohol evaporates.

A bad solder joint on a pot can give a crackling sound when you touch the knob but if it happens only when you turn the shaft I would say you can rule out a bad solder joint.

problem fix :D found some *BANNED* in my tone pot and a loose solder joint on the resistor side thanks John :wink:
