What effects would you like to see in NZ?

Post by J-Funk » Sat Sep 20, 2014 1:55 pm

Hi Everyone,

As a musician I've become frustrated trying to get hold of high-end, handmade and boutique effects pedals. For starters, hardly any of them are available in New Zealand. And the few that are, seem to be way overpriced. Parallel importing is cheaper, but having to pay shipping costs of $30 to $50 for one pedal still feels like being gouged. Obviously, these products are more expensive than mass produced effects, but that's no reason for NZ musicians to be ripped off. We deserve fair prices. And better availability.

So, I decided to look into setting up a new online pedal dealership specialising in selling the best handmade, boutique effects at fair prices. i.e. lower than parallel importing if at all possible. I already have 7 manufacturers on board, and I'm in contact with a dozen more. I hope to be launching the new site in October, offering at least 30 products to begin with, and building from there. But as you'd imagine, I want to provide products that people want.

So . . . what do you want?

What brands, what bass effects pedals, would you like to be able to buy, here in New Zealand, at FAIR prices?

N.B. I want to assure everyone that I will NOT engage in promoting any products or my online website in any posts on this forum. I will stick well within the forum guidelines on this. Though I would like to speak to the admins about paid advertising when the site is launched. My intention today is simply to find out what pedals musicians would like to become available at competitive prices here within New Zealand. I hope this is okay with everyone.

Not what could be considered an effects expert but two brands I have tried and purchased are Diamond and Wounded Paw.

Which pedals do you have from these guys. The Diamond compressor I'm guessing :) How about WP?

Disclaimer

The only resin I know of both Diamond and Wounded Paw is because of Tony

If you have a flatwounds strung P Bass you really should try the Diamond Bass Compressor

If you use a valve amp try the Wounded Paw Attcack Goat Bass Fuzz
