Post by john » Mon Nov 08, 2010 10:20 am

My band did some recording a couple of weeks ago, just got the vocals on.
These mp3s are roughly but not really at all mixed. would love to hear what you guys suggest for when we do mix it

Very true.
We once blew up our drummer out of respect.

Great to hear the tracks with vocals now John. 8) I am probably the least qualified person to make any comments about mixes, but I would like to hear them both with the vocals out in front a bit more, and the bass up a little bit too. Drums and guitar both sound good to me. Are you enjoying the whole process?

i like. a lot.

yeah, bass needs to be more up-front. vocals too. that gat sound is mint. nice balance between the instruments and vocals, everything seems to fit into place nicely. tight playing too.

bass tone reminds me of Klaus Flouride's in Plastic Surgery Disasters 8)

i also reckon, more snap on that snare (less "woof"), and bring the kick level up also. would be real jesus-lizard-in-yo-face then!

thumbs up!
i like rickenbackers. and fridges.

Yeah the snare is quite boomy eh.
I will suggest the bass up more in the mix, but I bet I get the "well the bass player would say that" :)
Def the vox need raising.

Yeah I love his gat sound too....les paul through two mesa amps

only listened to the 2nd track John and cannot hear any bass :(
I like the punk vox vs almost metal guitars
not convinced on the drummers intro
also I'd want to check the slur between the first and second guitar phrases
the vocals sound far away, which might be ok for a bit of a verse but maybe not the whole cut

again I need a proper listening device :( Computers aint where it's at.
