Had a Doh' moment at rehearsal!

Post by Mr Bass Man » Thu Aug 06, 2015 9:33 am

We had a band practice tuesday night to learn some new songs for our set list, and the last song on the learning list was 'Uptown Girl'
Our singer hadn't really done much work on it because she thought it would be 'vocally challenging' for the 4 of us to do

Anyway we go to have a run through and It sounds odd.... I look at Guitarist and ask what key he is in and he said 'D'
I said "but the original is in E" and he said he had learnt the 'Westlife' version (as had the drummer)
Doh'! LOL

we had quick listen to the Westlife version then have a run through and yes, there are a lot of BV's in there, but we might try it at another practice....

anyone else had a similar Doh' moment?

Yep just last week.... learnt the wrong style of Red House by Hendrix off Spotify. These online music sites like this have so many versions it's very easy to do.
To assume is to make an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'.
