bassstringsonline.com?

Post by daniel » Tue Aug 05, 2014 7:22 pm

Hi
Has anyone bought strings from http://www.bassstringsonline.com/ ?
they seem to have a lot more selection than what I can find here.
I haven't bought anything from overseas websites before, just NZ ones

what I want to know is how much it will cost me so buy strings from them.
I assume All their prices are $USD, so would i just use a currency converter on the price?
Do I need to add anything like: GST, import tax, etc.
will there be added fees on my debit card for a different currency?
what does shipping usually cost?

Thanks

I've never bought anything from them, but I know people who have and have been pleased. I've bought strings from juststrings.com and been quite happy.

BUT, all of those people I know were in the USA as was I when I last purchased from juststrings.com.

Yes, all of the prices will be in US dollars.

So, I'll venture to say they are a good place to buy from based on people I know. But I have no idea how things might work with shipping to NZ...

I have done 3 or 4 orders with them now, mainly for TI jazz flats which I just didn't seem to find on the shelf here.

What I do is make up an order, proceed to the checkout ( I use paypal ) and there you get a rough idea of what the cost is before you actually hit the pay button.
Use a currency converter to get a rough idea of NZ$,never been exact but near enough.
They will also calculate shipping at checkout in final cost.
Never had to pay any extra duty's or fees other than shown in the paypal transaction at purchase.

It has worked out cheaper with bulk string orders for me.

so essentially just the price at the checkout converted to $NZ
any idea on how long they take to arrive?

Thanks

all orders have arrived within 2 weeks. :D

oh and obviously paypal take a cut of my pie as well.

buy bulk to make it worth your while.

I even got a set of QP J/P pick ups from the same place, was cheaper than buying here.

I recently bought a set of TIs from them to replace my beloved 13yo ones. I also bought an Aguilar Precision pickup from them. Good service, good price. I only buy from online traders if I cant readily access a product in NZ. In this instance, neither was available here.
