Bass player coming over to NZ from UK at xmas

Post by chinwig_bass » Mon Aug 17, 2009 2:00 am

Hi all!

I am brand new to this forum but I thought I'd post a topic and hopefully get some sound advice.
I am coming over to New Zealand (Mt Maunganui) to see my brother in law from 26th Dec to 15th Jan. I am a semi pro bass player (34) from Sheffield UK and I play heavy rock/metal/blues music mainly, such as Metallica, QOTSA, Green Day, AC/DC, Led Zep, etc etc.
At the moment I play in a successful original heavy prog rock band (ChinWig) and we have just released an album.

I am seriously considering a move over to NZ with my wife (who is a nurse) and I would hopefully continue as a semi pro/or full time pro bass player.

I was wondering if there plenty of heavy rock bands around who are looking for bass players in that area. I would love to become involved in something musically while I'm there at the end of this year so anyone who may be looking for a bass player at that time please let me know! Also are there any jam nights in the Mt Maunganui area I could go to?

I'll post what gear I have in the other section!

Looking forward to coming over!

All the best

Aidan Hall.

ps I'm on Facebook if you want to add me.. AIdan Hall, Sheffield.

well it depends
if you vote Tory I'd say no :D
if you support Manchester United your no f***ing show mate :D

Welcome aboard anyway
Aotearoa is a great place to holiday and an even better joint to raise kids.
like most things though;
try before you buy.
