This is not on Trademe, but it is 'hot' and i found it at Bungalow Bills - a Vintage 1972 Fender Jazz bass - http://bungalowbills.com/equipment/vintage-guitars.html Scroll down the page to see it. It has obviously been a working players bass and has a lot of wear. Very tempting.....

2K is all good for one of these
would pay to see if it is a Newburgh Brooklyn version as they are more "collectible"

Do you think the refret job and missing battery cover affect the value much?

Not bothered about battery cover but the refret makes me reluctant to buy without seeing it

serial number indicates it's after Ned shifted operations.
refret, probably would want a look at.

Cheers foal

I am interested in getting a Steinberger but less keen on this if its after Ned shifted plus the re-fret, also a 4hr round trip to take a look and that's if it doesn't hit reserve ...

Funny, I was looking for an early 70's P bass but this reminded of a mates Steinberger from years ago, awesome sound and I love the design

replacement parts are (can be) tough to source and in some cases feel prohibitively expensive.

Yes, great instrument and fantastic design.

Don't think I'd ever own one as my main bass but that doesn't stop them being damn sexy
