To fretless or not to fretless?

and

Read somewhere that the side dots on most specifically made unlined fretless basses are on the actually semitone points, is this true?

and furthur more

Coating boards, everyone seems to say something different, what's the dealio?

the side-markers Yes
although on conversions (de-fretted) no.

Fret vs Fretless, they are two different instruments really. Just worn the same way...
I like to have both because some things just suit that instrument.

Coating the fingerboard
boat epoxy
type of strings is fairly relevant.
needless to say is the actual wood used

I ended up getting A brice HXB-406 Nat B, unlined 6er fretless in natural bubinga, sexy sexy thing.

I'm going to go on a picture taking spree today to sell a HUGE box of old records my mum wants to get rid of so i'll take a sec to take some pics of meh basses aswell.
