I have started to play my bass guitar with a pick but im not very good. I am used to playing with my fingers. Does anyone know any sites that teach you how to use a pick to play bass or can someone here help me out? please!

Carol Kaye website is pretty well received.

for me it's just practice. Like any other part of musicianship the time you put in slowly equals high quality output.

- try different gauge picks
- concentrate on just upstrokes
- concentrate on just down strokes
- mix up and down solely on the direction of the string change
- use open strings to tidy up your left hand muting
- specifically play a passage alternating between fingers and picks to "hear" how you sound. It don't really matter what the passage is, just something that you can hear without your instrument then concentrate on the nuances/tonal variations of fingers vs pick
