They're made in Canada by a guy called George Furlanetto.

This is his website. http://www.fbass.com

I ordered my one through thegrooveshoppe. Which is a bass store in New York who specialise in custom basses.

I think this should take you to a couple of photos of the bass that I brought(i hope i do this right)
:?

Yeah, it really is a wicked bass. Can't say enough about it.

Used it at a gig last night and it it just exceeded all expectations, the best B string I've ever played. Crystal clear notes all the way down.

And the finish is immaculate :D

What an awsome looking bass! You must be the only person in New Zealand to own one of these basses.

I had a look at the website - they have some other amazing looking basses on there too.

How did you find out about them? It's always a bit of a risk ordering something you haven't heard or played before, seems it paid off for you though! Congrats on your new bass!
Ok, I'll do the stupid thing first, then all you shy people follow...

Thanks dude.

I originally was looking at a Ken Smith or an MTD, but after talking to a couple of people from different bass stores in the States and hearing what they had to say about the F-Basses I started looking at those. After I did my own research on them I decided to go with the F-Bass and I'm glad I did.

But you're right though, it is a big risk in buying something without playing it first.

Nice F-Bass dude...
I also love the Alain Caron signature series... the whole F-Bass design approach is fantastic. Your wood finish looks great, love how the pickups match the wood - that is sooo.... F-Bass.
cheers

I lucked out on a Fretless Jazz about 2 months back. Putting new D'add chromes on it this weekend, I am expecting it will be very comfy.

the color is almost purple so i might get extra cred form the Good Ol' Boy.

I even ventured into "A remark you made" last week. The Sax piece is like every bad movie you can remember but the melody is memorable.

also on to do list is Don Henley "New York Minute". the idea of buying this CD is offputting, yes, but it's a cracking Pino line.
mind you I could dust off my fishtail parka, winklepickers, and stovepipes and get Paul Young "No Parlez" while I am at it.

Re: What's your Bass(es)?

I have a new edition to the family. My wife bought me a Fender Jazz Deluxe 5 String (latest model) for my birthday. Last night I took it to it's first gig, I had'nt even tried it through my gig rig - but sound check was as simple as plugging in and hitting it. The sound was punchier than anything I have ever played, it was crisp and just delicious all night. The feel is just beautiful, and it is much lighter than my Ibanez BTB. The two guitarists in my band play Fender Strats in Sunburst finish, so we all look kinda coordinated. I am actually still in shock and am still coming to terms with having it in the house. After my experience so far I have to say that the hype is all true.
BTW: That cruddy Fender amp in the picture is my practice amp :) it's a bit of a war horse.
