Re: Where can I buy nitrocellulose lacquer in NZ?

I don't know if anyone has checked (I most certainly have not), but Nitro Lacquer was/is the "official" classic car finish and so, it would seem likely to be able to find it in places that specilaise in automotive paints. Re: My Latest Obsession and Reason

As a mechanic BMW stands for "Bring My Wallet" Agricultural is a term I like to use to explain such principles of design and operation, glad it stirred some memories cjj . And what BMW puts the filter in the sump ? Yet to strike that model yet... just as well by the sound of it. BMW K series, ...

Re: My Latest Obsession and Reason

OK, so Harley puts things in weird places, so does BMW. Like, putting the oil filter INSIDE the oil sump!  Luckily, they have a special cover on the sump to get to it, but still!!! "Agricultural" LOL, what a great term! Reminds me of SO many things I had to deal with back when we were ...

Re: My Latest Obsession and Reason

So sorry to hear about the loss of your brother... :( Yes, it's a bass forum, and a Harley produces a very nice bass note as far as I'm concerned. So yeah, go ahead and post some pics! Myself, I've finally managed to snag something I've always lusted after, a nice, classic BMW K75S, also from '86...

Re: Shipping Bass From Overseas (USA)

Great info, Bronze! I've read some things on other fora about shipping via USPS and having issues with the size, especially for basses. Did you have to send it by any special method or did you just give the dimensions and have it "work?" Most of the things I've read about are regarding shipping to O...

Re: Shipping Bass From Overseas (USA)

Be aware that once it is in this country you will need a NZ customs client code number - Good info, thanks! As for the client code number, on the NZ Customs site: http://www.customs.govt.nz/incommercial/importprocedures/importprocess/Pages/default.aspx?s=4 It says: A client code is a unique number ...

Shipping Bass From Overseas (USA)

Has anyone here ever shipped a bass from the USA to NZ?

If so, what shipper did you use, DHL, Postal Service, etc.?

Any info/advice on how to handle the GST and other such charges?
