Re: Promote your band.

Hey Nev, good stuff man. Cool to finally see you playing! I don't remember you guys having a keyboardist when I filled in for you many moons ago. My band Black Dog did that gig with Shane a while back for a bit of fun. Unfortunately their sound guy didn't seem to notice that the bass wasn't turned u...

Re: Advice on bass setup

And if you're a "dig in to get tone and dynamics type player" and want to get that Geddy Lee sort of sound, you actually WANT fret buzz... I think you've hit on a great point here. Fret buzz can be musical in itself in an 'organic' kinda way and it can add character to your sound. Also buzz may be ...

Re: Reviving / Cleaning Old Bass Strings

I just came across this on 'No Treble' and nobody had mentioned this before. I've given it a go on my Jazz which was sounding a bit dead and it really brought them back... not like new but a major improvement. A def improvement and it only took 10mins and didn't need to take the strings off the bass...

Re: Show us your Bass!

Fantastic! Now that's a great lineup right there pins.
I've always preferred maple fingerboards just for the look more than any other reason.
That finish is amazing cjj.

Re: The new Ampeg V4B

Well, I just had the courage of my convictions and pulled the plug on a V4B, should be here in a few days :D . I will probably use it with my Bergantino NV115 if the matchup works. Way over the top and pure hedonism to feed my tube addiction  since I will have an Ampeg V4B, Orange AD200 and a...

Re: 4x10 vs 1x15 vs something else

I've tried various combinations and I preferred the 4x10 over a single 1x15. The 1x15's that I had never had the right mid upper sound that I like while 4x10's just have more of everything. Do consider the 2x12 though. I have been playing with 1 or 2 (1x12) cabs for 2 years now and I'm sold on them ...
