Gigs

So here's one I haven't seen yet. How about a little discussion on the process of actually getting booked for gigs? I haven't seen this mentioned at all on here and it's something i'm definitely lacking in in the knowledge department. I'm in an orginals rockband and we've finally got a decent amount...

Re: ESP basses

I have the EC254, great piece of gear for the cash. It's not exactly light, with the massive mahogany body. Has a great sound for rock and slap, lots of crisp attack. Waaaay different from my other base which is a corvette, which is more smooth/heavier on the low end. I'd play AC/DC with the LTD and...

Sharay Reed

This guy is a groove master. He plays probably busier than most, but it never sounds out of place. I suggest you watch this video, rather than listen to me talk about him.

What pickups would you throw in this beast?

http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/3096/samick.jpg So this is my first bass. Or, a googled image of the same model as my first bass. A samick stingray knockoff. It's not all that badly built but the electronics are poo, as are the tuners, so I thought i'd do it up a bit (gonna re-finish it as well)...

Re: Problems with my peavey combo

Nah I plugged it through my gt-10b as a pre-amp so I know I was cranking the signal just as hot.

In fact I might just leave it as is and just use my pedal for the preamp instead of spending precious dollars repairing it

Problems with my peavey combo

Ok it looks like I must have been rocking too hard because my peavey max115 has developed a nasty crackle. I'm suprised because not only is it peavey, but these max things are supposed to have some sort of 'ddt speaker protection' to stop it blowing out. Anyway what the deal is if i've got the pream...
