Re: Jazz bass GAS: what to look for?

Hey everyone, I'm sick of my Warwick Streamer LX and I've figured out that a Jazz Bass gets the closest to the tone that I like. The used bass market in NZ isn't exactly huge so I thought I'd go for a new American Standard. What are the new run (e.g. '08-'09) fender basses like in terms of quality?...

B) Rick Savage, Def Leppard. Union Jack Washburn XB925.

Yep, I listen to music that's way, way older than I am.

Afterthought: Probably Rick Savage.

Re: I finally found a Jazz Bass that actually feels nice!

They also had an American Standard Jazz otherwise exactly the same as the MIM, but the MIM blew it away!. Can you elaborate? They had an American Standard Jazz that was black with a white pickguard and maple fretboard, not that the colour makes a difference, but it was pretty much the "model up". I...

Re: 1 question...

HI Sunjae - the scale, or scale length, is the distance from the nut to the bridge. Standard scale length is 34 inches, some 5 string basses are 35 inches to help get a better sounding low B string. theoreticaly get a better B string. Well, the extra inch just tightens that super-low B a bit, so it...
