Re: Suitable Mic's for Micing a Bass Amp

Audix D6 and the Sansamp BBDI, two things I strongly dislike by themselves but it's funny what you can do when you mix multiple things together and use the "good" parts of each. The D6 has some serious low end. I wouldn't want to use it on bass by itself but just for low end I could imagine it work...

Re: Suitable Mic's for Micing a Bass Amp

Just got a couple of our songs mixed at York Street that we tracked ourselves. I got paid a complement for my bass recording. I used an Audix D6 right up on the speaker, an SE2200 (cheap as large condenser) about 600mm back from the speaker, a DI/line out from my amp(SWR350x) after the preamp(tube) ...

Re: They stole three bass guitars....gutted!

The police rang up our ex guitarist a couple of months ago and said they had found his Gibson Les Paul and that was over a year after it got stolen......the funny thing was he wasn't allowed it though because insurance had paid out. I don't know why they even rang him, it just made him angry hahaha!

Re: What's your rig?

Is it possible then to convert a 8ohm 4x10 to a 4 ohm and solve the problem of not enough output. I don't think it is possible because I'd say it is wired in a series-parallel configuration and all speakers will be 8ohms. Most 4 ohm cabs use 16 ohm speakers I think. You could however wire it to 2 o...

Re: Epiphones

A bassist in the band "green like go" in Christchurch plays one I think and I really liked his tone last time we played together.
Really full humbucker yet still grindy sound.

Olly the bassist for Autozamm plays a fender P with two P pickups, not sure if its a custom job or what though. Has a nice sound.
