For Sale: Livesound 2x12 cab

I had this built for me by Livesound ten years ago, I had one of their 8x10s and wanted something smaller, this is basically an "Ampeg sounding" 2x12 cabinet, but like the classic 8x10s it's a sealed cab so it has a very tight, punchy and even low end. The current Ampeg 2x12 is ported. 4ohm, handles...

Re: BPNZ User Youtube Thread!

Here's my band, we just shot this and we're about to move to London. Unfortunately our drummer isn't coming with us, anyone know any good drummers in London?

Re: Mini rig of doom!

Awesome heads, maybe not quite the thickness of an 800RB but still that GK sound and so small and light.

I have the MB500 and even with a small cab it's loud, couldn't imagine needing the extra power of the MB800.

Re: Instrument Cables - ones that lasts and are good value for money?

planet waves have a limited lifetime warranty. you may have to keep your docket, or probably the packaging, but they are well worth the money. Couldn't disagree more, everyone I know who bought them ended up returning them several times per year until they get sick of it and bought something decent...

Re: New 'hissing' problem

I played the bass straight through the mixing desk and it didn't 'hiss' out front so it's only when the bass is plugged into the amp and the treble slider turned up when there is hissing and that makes me think it is more of an amp problem There will always be some background noise in your signal, ...

Re: Downsizing my rig - anyone done it?

Currently my head and 2x12 is around 25kg total, in the past I've had big tube heads that weighed more than that. I was in the Rock Shop yesterday grabbing some patch cables and saw one of those new Fender Rumble combos. $1000 retail for a 2x10 combo, 500 watts with an extension cab (so probably aro...

Re: Noise gate / supressor pedal?

Your issue sounds like a ground loop, this will change from venue to venue. Strange the ground lift isn't solving it, might be a fault in the PA or your amp. A noisegate pedal is going to be in your signal chain prior to wherever this problem is coming from so it almost certainly won't help. we has ...

Here's some I'm part of. Haven't had heaps of luck as they're mainly people trying to swap 7 strings/bogan guitars for other 7 strings/bogan guitars but see how you go. https://www.facebook.com/groups/421796927912986/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/236965496406114/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/1...

Re: Are there less bands right now?

Look at the charts currently (and for the last few years), it's not very "band" orientated. There's always a few but it's just not really in trend currently, and the ones that are there are often legacy acts who've already built a fanbase. Things go in phases and you'll probably see bands getting mo...

Re: Why did the Ampeg cross over the road?

I have a Mesa m-Pulse 600w head and Powerhouse cabs. I have the 4x10, 2x12 and 1x15 cabintes. I can use any two in combination to get the maximum power. Each cabinet has 3 way selectable crossover points and an attenuator for the horn. It's simple to hook up, its loud and the sounds is better than ...

Re: Why did the Ampeg cross over the road?

Hi BP, I've been reading the forums here and on Talkbass re: using 1x15 and 4x10 and how it's not the ideal configuration i.e having matching cab speaker sizes (solely 10s, 12s, or 15s) is the way to go. Yep, but I assume you've been using this setup for a few years and were totally happy with it u...

Re: Weakest band member or musician who was a bassist

If U2 had bass shreds I'd hate them even more. Why is Adam Clayton weak? Because he sits on root notes? So does AC/DC and many others. Why? Because if they did any more they would be in the way. They play exactly what is needed for those bands, and that makes them bloody good bass players in my book...
