Re: Want to try out Bill Fitzmaurice Design Cabs???

I sometimes like to practice with the treble wound up to achieve that effect.
Lol! I only do that when I'm feeling very brave!

*walks away muttering "who invented treble anyway...... "*

Re: Want to try out Bill Fitzmaurice Design Cabs???

HA . Now I am scared to try one . Crystal clear might be to much for me :? Don't be scared! LOL! I suppose what I really meant, was that I can't do anything remotely different like slap, tap etc., to find out exactly how it sounds with all the different techniques etc.! It really is worth checking ...

Re: Want to try out Bill Fitzmaurice Design Cabs???

Well, you guys who are going to see these cabs, be prepared to be amazed! I've tried them. The sound is truly crystal clear. Would love to see you guys trying them out - my bass playing sucks too much to see what you can REALLY get out of these amazing cabs - lol!

Re: Gail Ann Dorsey

I'm a bit late with replying to this thread, but she is a truly talented lady. I've got that vid of her singing Under Pressure with David Bowie on my Myspace site. I love her style of playing, and WOW she can sing! I wish I had talent like that! Although I would love to be able to do what she does, ...

Re: Are you a Musician or an Entertianer?

I think what Beagle said is quite true, about different audiences having different expectations. For example - sometimes they just came out to the pub with their friends for a drink, and maybe will dance if there just happens to be a band playing, and are not interested in what you look like or if y...

Re: Are you a Member of other Forums?

I'm a member of Active Bass. I'm on there most days - a really friendly bunch of people, a lot of them very knowledgeable, but haven't got their head so far up the asses that they can't just hang out and just have fun - there's a lot of good natured banter that goes on there - not all bass related, ...

Re: Bill Fitzmaurice Cabinets

A friend of mine is a registered builder for Bill Fitzmaurice cabs (I think he's the only registered builder in NZ). I can tell you that having tried the Omni 10 out, well, it's pretty amazing! It is LOUD - equal in volume to my Warwick 411 pro cab, and the mids jump out at you - you will have NO tr...

Re: Tune in!!!

I got to see the show for the first time tonight (better late than never - I normally have music practice on Tuesday nights). I would have liked to see more of the band (the dancers don't really do anything for me  ), but then again, the show is about the contestants after all - hehe! You did w...

Re: How do you sling your bass?

Well, I can't sling my bass at chest height, cos my boobs get in the way  , and I don't sling it too low because I'm only 5'2" and it would just about touch the floor, but I feel very comfortable with it slung so that my right hand when playing the B (I have a 5 string) is about hip height, wit...

Re: Lots looking, only a few posting!!

We do have an alarm, but the weird thing is, they targeted the only two rooms that didn't have a sensor in them. We have now upgraded to having sensors in every room and window locks, cost us a small fortune! Plus having to pay the insurance company the usual excess fee. Grrrrrrrr!
