Yeah you could, but the sound was oh so sweet, and the power... In the recording studio the engineer put it opposite a Carver 300w solid state amp and the Ampeg smoked it without breaking a sweat.

It's not my rig any more, but I miss it... I had a mid-70's Ampeg SVT (blue line with 6550's) with the matching 8x10 cabinet. I got it in tired condition and had it thoroughly worked over, replacing all of the 30 tubes and one of the transformers. After that it was quiet enough to record with. I got...

Thanks. I saw his site but to be honest was quite put off that it would cost me $50 for a place in queue and another $150 for a quote before even touching the guitar.
