Re: New Pickups - Fodera/Aero Content

I've only heard them in a Fodera but i've had a set of single coils in a jazz bass that i loved. Planning on hitting the clubs big time, I want to check out 55bar, blue note, birdland etc. will hit the shops too but can't afford to spend to much so I think it'll be a whole lot of dreaming. Anyone kn...

New Pickups - Fodera/Aero Content

I just bought these for less than a set of Bartolini's - they are Fodera-Aero Custom Shop 5-string Dual Coil pickups in handmade deep gray Buckeye Burl wooden covers that came out of a Fodera Imperial Elite. I'm going to pick them up from Fodera directly when i visit NYC next month. excited If only ...

Re: Assembly/Build advice

Asher? Is that Ash or Alder? The dollar vs the dollar has improved recently, so $150 for a new lefty bass body is pretty darn cheap. If you want to go local though, I highly suggest sending a pm to ash. ummm yeah that was meant to say Ash. Pretty tempted to get myself an early Christmas present. :D

Re: Assembly/Build advice

What is a finished body from the USA going to cost you and what type/colour of finish? The body is a similar to a jazz body, with some alterations to the lower horn to give access to the higher frets. Body is Asher with Quilted maple top, I haven't gone into finishing to much with him yet, i assume...

Assembly/Build advice

I'm thinking of buying a body & neck etc as i'm a lefty and want to get something that isn't a budget bass but isn't overly expensive. I've found a builder who will make me a body in the US and with the $ being the way it is it's reasonably cheap, He'd finish the body but it wont be drilled for the ...

Re: What's the best action for slap?

and there in lies the answer slapping the bass is just another technique, not a style like any technique 'form' it requires practice to be proficient at so if you want to slap the bass you can, you just practice. I agree and i think if you'd like to make a career out of music you should learn all t...
