Re: Show us your Bass!

I just realised I never put up any pictures of my latest bass. I brought this one back on my last trip to the U.S. It's a Rickenbacker 4004Cii/5... C7J_0094.jpg I've got a full picture that's 533x800 & 184kBytes, but it's apparently too big even though it's less that the 256kB allowed (see https://...

Re: Warwick Streamer LX conversion to Passive

I would go blend with a Z dual pot so that the middle position has full output.

Re: Wanted: Early 70's Fender Precision with Maple Neck

Only one guy I know on here has that.

It’s the best bass I’ve ever played.

And no, he’ll never part with it - I gave it a crack too

Re: Old Person - New Amp

Thanks for the thorough and thoughtful reply Nev After music tonight I'll try and have a read up on the Mooer. Tbh I have never heard of the product or company. I think Tony had or has a Le Bass pre. Yeah - ran the gamut of preamp pedals! Tonehammer (awesome) Mesa Subway (ok, not for me) Le Bass (s...

Re: Tuning peg becoming too stiff to turn on a p-bass

A little bit of crc did the trick for me on one, on another bass I just replaced whole peg.

Re: P-Bass - right first time

Yep, I love my P. I have found that if I play live with any other bass, I muck around with the tone until it sounds like a P Bass because that's what works. I found that a Jazz neck enables me to play a lot faster, live my hand just cramps up. A P neck can feel a bit big at home but live it just fee...

Re: Anyone G.A.S free?

I am *practically* GAS free, my P-Bass, Orange AD200B, and Genz Benz Neo212 nail the tone I have in my head. I've tried other stuff but this combo just sits perfectly in everything. I had absurd GAS on guitar but with bass, I've found all the things that work for me. Jazz was always nice at home but...

Re: Buying online.....

I think that within reason, most of us would rather buy off the local guy than the overseas retailer BUT the price difference is often too substantial to be altruistic about it very often. The local guys are having to pay for shipping, gst, make a margin but yet don't get the discounts that bulk ord...

Re: 4x10 vs 1x15 vs something else

The thing about 12's is that you really do need to be convinced of their awesomeness in person, because you don't usually think of them when you're looking for a new cab. Also, I sure as hell didn't buy the Genz Benz 212 because it looked pretty, which has always been my criticism of GB. It has blow...

This.

I was forever in 4x10 vs 2x15 land until I tried out a Genz Benz 212T NeoX cab.
I sold the rest, bought the 2x12, and I've never thought about getting another cab, it sounds perfect and is loud as hell too.
