el bajo

Postby model.citizen » Thu May 14, 2009 1:58 pm

Finally got this project steering in the right direction after a change of drummers, tho still looking for that elusive vocalist who can add something to the mix - any suggestions, lemme know! :)

Excuse the crappy "demos" on the site, all the goodness of one-take jams with a few mics in the room. Bass was done via DI a couple of days later, all single-takes (i decided that if the rest was a single take, mine should be also  ). One day soon we'll record properly and play stuff tight (yep we've all heard that before!)...

cheers!

it's a '79 4001 lefty Ric, strung right-handed, with just the v63 horseshoe pickup selected. drop-D, .45/.65/.85/.135 strings.

into a Tech21 VTBass, EHX Small Clone (used for the heavy bits on Tongue), Artec Analog Delay (used on the lead-y bridge in My Love Is Like Whoa), Boss Bass Limiter/Enhancer, into my old ProTools mBox unit.

mixed it down quick, then chucked it through Ozone3 to even out the dynamics a little.

Yeah sounds good man. Pretty good for a basic recording.
Def ready for the vocalist! Good luck with the hunt.
Nice myspace layout too 8)

Some good sounds you got going on there Neil. A good vocalist could really take that to another level. 8)
