Saw your bass in the "what're your basses" thread and was going to ask if you're from katchafire.

Big fan man :)

Hey Tere,
Bro your fullas new album is the only cd i have had in my car for the last couple of months.
Mean groove, Not often i will let a cd go from track 1 through to 12 without skipping a song.
Mean brutha.
I play in a covers band in the Taranaki and we are currently learning track 10 for a couples 1st dance at there wedding. Be the 1st time we ever played a reggae song for a 1st dance.

Hey Brooksie,
Wow, thats cool to hear, Track 10 - Meant to Be is pretty popular with the couples, kinda mushy island reggae. That tune and track 8 - Love letter went to #1 in Hawaii.

The album has done well in the USA reaching #4 on the US Reggae Billboard charts for 10 weeks with only the "Best of Bob Marley" albums ahead of us at the top 3 places, the album reached #1 in Hawaii and 4 tracks from the same album are on playlist rotation every hour. Hawaiians like most kiwis love their reggae i guess.

Most of the tracks i had to learn within 1 week prior to recording when i just came back into the band, tracks 4, 8 and 10 were made up on the spot while in the studio, i didnt have much reference from the guys for these tracks so i went with what i thought flowed with the lyrics, there was no pressure on me at the time and the guys were really supportive, they didn't want anything flashy, just something basic, the albums focus was purely on the vocals and harmony.

I also did the lead break for track 4 - Mr.Flava, i was tutuing with a vintage telecaster one day in the studio and Logan pressed record (the cheeky buggah) and it ended up on the tune.

The fourth upcoming album will be a mixture of some leftover recordings from the "Say What You're Thinking' sessions and tracks we've been recording whilst on tour in the US. We're currently trying to fine tuning our live CD and Live DVD when we can squeeze in the time.

Have a great time with the track, make it your own, even change things to suite your feel.

Bless up

Tere

Edit: Early morning post... Just got home from Stradbroke Island Brisbane. Yawwwnnn
