Oh dear. Bob was only a whisker behind Jameson in my estimation, and was dang near as prolific. First the Duck, now Bob.... oh, and Jon Lord....

Scorpio, Inner City Blues and Midnight Train to Georgia will all be righteously trashed tonight.

He'll be missed and not just for the great legacy of his playing. You'll have to dig deep to find anyone with a negative thing about Mr Babbitt, which seems a rarity in the trite world of pop music. The interviews I have read of him he seemed like a wonderful human being who just happened to be a wonderful bass player as well.
