Help please, power supply needed !

Post by makatak » Wed Mar 29, 2017 6:46 pm

Does anybody know where I can get an 18V Centre negative DC 500mA/1000mA adapter or have one for sale ? I have the small lightweight switching style but its noisy ( like a whistle when switched on ) , I need the heavier transformer style one. The pedal runs quiet on my Boss 9v but the 18v would give it more headroom. New Zealand is hopeless in this respect and I`m not sure why stores sell the likes of Xotic/Aguilar/Mesa pedals etc that run on 18v when they`re such a bitch to get power supplies for :( Not cool when the only ones they DO sell create noise. Thanks in advance

Hi.

To solve board noise and 18v confusion I talked to Ryan at CAB (Auckland)

I got a ModTone power 'brick' which has voltage switching options plus Ryan can make little cable that uses two 9v slots to run 18v pedal.

This set up I have found excellent but I realise it may also not answer your question :o

Thanks for that, sold the 18volt outboard preamp that needed that and bought a 9v MXR M81. Awesome pedal. New here $475, landed mine off ebay for $200 delivered !
