Uptown Funk - Mark Ronson with Bruno Mars

Post by manofthematch » Wed Dec 17, 2014 6:14 pm

Man, I'm totally digging the bass part to this song. Nice slap feel. What's everyone else's thoughts on this song? Anyone else out there in BPNZ land digging it?
The chord arrangement reminds a little of "Ladies Night" by Kool & the Gang.

yeah - quite like the song myself..... listening to the song it is definitely tuned down to drop D... which is a pain if you only play a 4 string and don't have a drop D tuner.... someone did a tutorial on youtube and they played it up an octave (not in drop D) and it didn't sound right

Well my band learnt this song.... it was a hard one for me to learn as I don't have a 5 string and the last minute is pretty full on with the bass.....
I'm lucky my amp has a sub harmonic function - press a button and it plays the same note an octave below
We rehearsed it last week and played it at Saturdays gig and it went well.
