In ear monitors / headphones

Post by manofthematch » Thu Sep 11, 2014 6:18 pm

Hi BP community,
I'm in the market for some in ear monitors good for bass. I have budget around $200 - $400

I thought about some Shure se315s

Just wondering if anyone else out there in BPNZ land is using them or has an informed opinion on a brand or model?

Our drummer just started using them. Prefers one in one out as he says he feels a bit disconnected from his drums, but the overall mix is awesome.

Great way to cause uneven hearing damage.

315, they would be single dynamic driver, ported? not a huge step up from the 215 in terms of bass quality.

i really like my westone UM2 which would just fall into your budget range, BUT you would have to decide if you want it to be more geared up towards monitoring or headphones.

the westone UM-2 are great for a 'flat' response, good when listening to music too, but would require some eq as it isn't as enhanced as others.

for bass players/drummers, double or triple drivers should be the minimum in what we are looking for

Reckon he'd tell me "one good ear is better than none". But you have a good point :D
