Ohhh - nice Foal. Feeling a little Tobias envy. Now you just need an MTD 535 and you are set.

Yeah, would need to sell other basses to get the 535. Was close to doing this a while back but couldn't quite bring myself to it. And yes if it does happen there is a Grendel heading into to Mosgiel!

Wow!, a Jansen Bassman 25, amazing. The first amp I ever bought. From Farmers in Hobson street in 1971 for $199 - fantastic amp. All dials up full and it never blew. Well done bok007.

Thanks Ryla
I'm back from a 20 year hiatus so starting out small.
It really brings the thunder compared to modern practice amps.
My previous rig back in the 90's was a Jansen 440 crusader with JBL K140 in a EV Cab.
Indestructible that was.
The old philips in the Bassman 25 has been repaired (badly?) by Axent at some stage.
I'm considering getting a replacement driver or getting a service from Jansen?
Cheers

Great rig. A 2nd EV cab and that's quite some air you can shift :)

The original Philips drivers with the 'whizzer' cones around the dustcap aren't all that flash for bass in my opinion. They can sound better for guitar and bass after a whizzer-ectomy if you are brave...

Why not get in touch with John V at Jansen? He probably designed the amp!
He often reads and posts to the Jansen Amplifiers Facebook page:

My new arrival. '72 American Fender Precision bass. All original apart from the pickups. Great condition apart from some buckle rash on the back of the body. The tone is amazing. It is actually quite light to hold onto. Now I got over 10 basses and I am still on the lookout for more. I got to stop buying but I cant stop lol

Dimarzio. I will try and find period correct Fender p pickups to put back into it. It might take me a while to find them I would think. Ebay has none. I sent an email to Normans Rare Guitars to find out if they are able to help. No rush though. The bass already sounds great the way it is.

Looks good Bronze

Btw anyone here hit the $600 buy now on the Red Precision on TM this weekend?
I foolishly wanted to show the auction to Mrs Foal... When she got home it was no longer there.think it was a Highway.
